This Privacy Policy describes how The Gambit: Tavern Styled Dice game (“we,” “our,” or “the App”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

2.1 Account information (Optional) If you choose to create an account:

  • Player name
  • Password (encrypted and hashed)

2.2 Game data (Optional) If you choose to create an account:

  • Game statistics (scores, achievements, games played)
  • Silver balance and transaction history
  • Dice collection and inventory
  • Game preferences and settings

2.3 Local storage 

  • The App stores game progress locally on your device
  • This data is used to maintain your game state between sessions

2.4 Anonymous usage data 

  • Device type and operating system version
  • App version and crash reports
  • General gameplay statistics (anonymised)

2.5 Optional communications 

  • Marketing consent status (if provided during registration)

3. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain game functionality
  • Save your progress and achievements
  • Enable account features and cloud sync (if you create an account)
  • Improve game balance and user experience
  • Send important updates about the game (if you opted in)
  • Provide customer support
  • Prevent fraud and abuse

4. Data storage and security

4.1 Local play 

  • If you play without creating an account, all data is stored locally on your device
  • We do not have access to your local game data

4.2 Account play 

  • Account data is stored securely on our servers
  • We use industry-standard encryption for data transmission
  • Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text

4.3 Security measures 

  • We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data
  • Regular security audits and updates
  • Limited access to personal data by authorised personnel only

5. Data sharing

We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share data only in the following circumstances:

  • With your explicit consent
  • To comply with legal obligations
  • To protect our rights and prevent fraud
  • With service providers who assist in app operations (under strict confidentiality agreements)

6. Third-party services

The App may integrate with third-party services:

6.1 In-app purchases 

  • Processed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  • Subject to their respective privacy policies
  • We receive transaction confirmation but not payment details

6.2 Analytics services (if applicable) 

  • May collect anonymous usage data to improve the app • Subject to their privacy policies

7. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications
  • Export your data
  • Delete your account

9. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time through two methods:

Method 1: In-app deletion

  1. Open the app and go to Main Menu
  2. Tap “Account”
  3. Select “Delete Account”
  4. Confirm your decision

Method 2: Email request

  • Send an email to ryan@wiggill.com with the subject line “Delete My Account”
  • Include the email address associated with your account
  • We will process your request within 48 hours

What gets deleted:

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your account credentials (email and password)
  • All game statistics and high scores
  • All collected dice and inventory items
  • All achievements and progress
  • All preferences and settings
  • All device registrations
  • All in-app notifications

Important notes:

  • Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
  • You will lose access to any in-app purchases associated with your account
  • Local game data stored on your device will remain until the app is deleted
  • The deletion process is typically completed immediately for in-app requests
  • Email deletion requests are processed within 48 hours

After deletion, you may create a new account at any time, but your previous progress cannot be restored.

10. Data retention

  • Active accounts: Data retained while account is active
  • Inactive accounts: Data may be deleted after 6 months of inactivity
  • Deleted accounts: Data permanently deleted within 30 days
  • Local data: Remains on device until app is uninstalled

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. In-app purchases

  • All purchases are processed through official app stores
  • We do not store credit card information
  • Purchases are subject to store refund policies
  • Virtual currency (Silver) has no real-world value

13. Cookies and tracking

The App may use:

  • Session data to maintain login state
  • Local storage for game preferences
  • Anonymous analytics for app improvement

You can manage these preferences in the App settings.

14. International users

If you access the App from outside South Africa, your information may be transferred to and processed in South Africa. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

15. California privacy rights (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

  • Right to know what data is collected
  • Right to delete personal data
  • Right to opt-out of data sales (we don’t sell data)
  • Right to non-discrimination
